SwanNek is a boundary-pushing contemporary jazz collective from Newcastle upon Tyne, who use music to celebrate the places and people they hold dear.
From their debut single ‘Lucid Dreams’ to their acclaimed track ‘Beautiful Sunday’ to their debut EP ‘At What Cost?’ SwanNek draw deeply from their own experiences, weaving personal stories into a dynamic and powerfully emotive sound: a fusion that reflects the rich and diverse musical identity of their hometown.
Their emotive, innovative and welcoming live shows have drawn praise from Radio 3’s Soweto Kinch and BBC Introducing’s Shakk (“a collective of musical superheroes”), consistently attracting an eclectic and ever-growing fanbase.
In 2025, they were named BBC Introducing “One’s to Watch”. To mark the release of their debut EP, they closed 2025 with a headline show at the Glasshouse International Centre for Music.
2026 sees SwanNek at their most exciting point yet, with some of their biggest releases and compelling stories to tell – and which they will be showcasing at Durham Jazz Festival.
