Durham Fringe Academy is a new black box theatre and creative training space built by the Durham Fringe community. Created with volunteers, students from Durham School, and support from The CDB Group, the venue brings together practical theatre skills, safe working practice, staging, seating, truss and technical production in a hands-on environment.
Designed to support emerging performers, technicians and volunteers, the Academy will host workshops, performances and development opportunities as it grows towards its official opening. It is a flexible, community-led space for learning, making and presenting live work in the heart of Durham.
